MAPFRE ASSISTANCE named underwriter of the year 2011
MAPFRE ASSISTANCE has been named Insurer/Underwriter of the Year at the International Travel Insurance Journal Industry Awards 2011.
The announcement was made at a gala awards night in Lisbon on 3rd November as part of the ITIJ’s annual international conference.
The Insurer/Underwriter of the Year category was exceptionally strong this year, with fellow nominees including UK General and Europ Assistance.
Rafael Senén Garciá, Chairman and CEO of MAPFRE ASSISTANCE, said, “The award recognises in MAPFRE ASSISTANCE, especially, the products and processes innovation as well as the technical capacity as underwriter and the financial solvency.

This is the second time MAPFRE ASSISTANCE has been victorious at the ITIJ Industry Awards, previously taking home the Assistance/Claims Handler of the Year award at the 2005 event.
