Introduction

Welcome to the latest issue of MAPFRE ASSISTANCE’s monthly e-bulletin. It is great to be able to once again communicate with our valued customers and colleagues some of the exciting developments that have taken place recently at MAPFRE ASSISTANCE.

One of the most important developments has been the roll-out of our single, unified global communications strategy of which this monthly e-bulletin is part. This, we hope, will signal clearly our global ambition under a single umbrella brand and give MAPFRE ASSISTANCE a cohesive identity as it continues its expansion plans. Looking ahead, this e-bulletin will keep you updated on all our latest achievements and business developments – we hope it proves useful.

Once again, it has been a very busy, productive and exciting month for the team at MAPFRE ASSISTANCE, a month which has seen us winning a number of new insurance partnerships and initiatives.

We have managed to secure deals, for example, with two specialist travel agencies, Great Rail Journeys and Citibond. We have also signed up with a travel insurance affinity provider called Rock Affiliates. These are great endorsements of MAPFRE ASSISTANCE and pave the way for more partnerships in the months ahead.

All of the deals are the results of hard work, dedication and the professionalism of the MAPFRE ASSISTANCE team – a team that continually strives for performance and success.

We had a number of senior executives attend the recent ABTA annual travel convention in the capital of Mallorca, Palma, and made some great new business contacts. MAPFRE ASSISTANCE co-sponsored the high profile e-tid Breakfast Briefing in which Leire Jimenez gave the opening speech.

InsureandGo, the UK’s leading travel insurance specialist, has rolled out a new, targeted website offering low-cost travel insurance to the youth segment. With an extremely strong domain – Travelinsurance.co.uk – the team at InsureandGo, which MAPFRE ASSISTANCE acquired in 2010, is now looking at an extensive marketing campaign around the new site.

We are also working on building a new standalone cancellation website that allows you to cancel a full range of events for any reason, and I hope to be able to update you on this in the next e-bulletin.

Thanks to initiatives such as this as well as our great team, strong product portfolio and focused communications and marketing strategy, MAPFRE ASSISTANCE remains a leading insurance partner with strong business momentum. Our I&G book is still growing in terms of premiums and policies despite the economic conditions, further testament to the incredibly strong franchise we are building in the UK.

I’m delighted to see that this momentum continues to yield very successful, tangible results as we build MAPFRE ASSISTANCE into a world-class operation.
